Looking back through this thread - I think we've missed out on some banter re. Dodgy Shirts!!

- I've got a cracker although not a potential winner I admit!

Also seen some comedy red shirts with AIG across the front - available in all good charity shops! - and some bad ones too!!

Already got mine at the ready too funk - Not a winner either but still a horrible shirt!

As for the United top comments - might have kicked something off a few years ago - But as your lot now view Yeovil as a 'Tricky away tie' i dont think that your any position to comment!

There should be a prize for dodgy footwear too! That would be close though!

Midweek to Yeovil lad? - No-one fancies that trip!! Even worse is a midweek trip to Brighton!!

One other point i would say on this topic, is the possible signing of new players.

As most of the local teams in the area now play in the MBCCL, maybe some of their better players could be approached and ''gently' persuaded to play for NCC.

I know this may upset a few players already at the club, but the position of 1st Xl ''strike'' bowler needs addressing in the close season.

The development of the junior section seems to have gone well, but it seems to me that a couple of them can't, or won't ''switch on'' and realise the effort required to get the club promoted.

I know you still have one game left this season, but the start of next season will be upon you all before you know it.

Organisation, preparation, commitment, and discipline, and i see the club back on track, and promoted.

As Chris Gayle said, enjoy the winter months.

I do agree with some of the things Slogger said - however I dont think the club have gone off the track - its one season where we havent been promoted from a league with some good teams.

This season has provided us with an opportunity to see what mistakes have been made how to resolve them and see what improvements need to be made to stop mistakes happening. And lets remember some things have been done very well.

Lets just enjoy the last game and look forward to next season

I thought i'd worded that wrong.

When i wrote ''back on track'' i meant back to getting promoted.

Sorry for the mis-understanding.

Back to getting promoted - this is the first year in however many that we have not gone up and we all are feeling like it is a huge defeat, we have still finished 3rd which means that we are the 3rd best team in the Mellor Braggins League!! - but maybe like i said before not going up might be the best thing for the club, as if will give some of the players another year experience in the first team, then when we get promoted next year most of the players will be ready both physically and mentally!

Rich - ill come out first Friday of the season

Well well, that's yourself and Stuey that have agreed with what i stated at the very start of the season!!!

I find that somewhat ironic, considering i was critisised for actually saying it at the time.

Slogger,

I think that it was more down to the fact that it felt like you were writing the team off before the season had already started. At the time I think everyone was positive and felt that there was no reason for not getting promoted again. I think as Johnny has said sometimes it's not what you write but how you write it that causes your comments to be dismissed.

If any players or club officials honestly believed i was ''writing the 1st team off'' at the start of this season, then they obviously didn't listen to my comments carefully enough.

Like Stuey, having played in the CCCL i just felt that the team wouldn't be experienced enough to actually stay in the CCCL next season, which would have brought that dreaded word relegation.

The fact that Craig has posted some sensible comments on this post, i hope certain other individuals take note.

You have a good young squad, that will improve year on year, there's no doubt about that. But as Stuey has said earlier, the next step up is a BIG one.

I hope this gets my point across, as when i open my trap and say it, people seem to take it the wrong way.

Slog,

I totally understand that now and think that you are probably right. Hopefully with what has been written on the forum there will be some good points raised at the meeting tomorrow.

As I have said earlier I personally think along with the buyin of the team training is the main thing that needs looking at.
